HUSH is a native macOS assistant for live audio, text, screen capture, and the context you choose to keep.
Use the lightweight overlay for quick Live, Text, and Capture interactions, then move into the full app for longer conversations, session review, and settings.
- Choose microphone audio, system audio, text, a screen capture, or a supported file.
- Review the context you intend to use.
- Ask an OpenAI model connected with your own account.
- Return to locally stored sessions when the work continues.
One assistant, two surfaces
- Live
- Listen through the microphone, system audio, or both. With an OpenAI account connected, HUSH uses OpenAI Realtime for live audio and responses; Apple speech transcription is available as a fallback.
- Text
- Send text prompts and receive streaming responses from the OpenAI models available to the account you configure.
- Capture
- Add a screen selection, window, image, or supported file when the question needs visual or document context.
- Sessions
- Search, pin, reopen, archive, delete, and branch session history stored on your Mac.
- Discretion
- Control Dock presence, screen-capture visibility, desktop overview behavior, opacity, input passthrough, and window level within the limits of macOS.
Local history, connected intelligence
HUSH stores session history on your Mac and keeps provider keys in Keychain by default. It is not a fully local AI app.
When you use OpenAI-backed features, the prompts, captures, files, audio, and conversation context needed for the request are sent directly to OpenAI under the account you connect. Apple speech services can handle fallback transcription according to the capabilities and settings of your Mac.
Use Live and Capture only when you have permission to record or share the material involved.
